Easy Dog Treats You Can Bake at Home

No one likes cookies more than I – but my four-legged best friends come in a close second.

Sadly, Oreos and Tollhouse Cookies will send them to an early grave. Fortunately for them, I can whip up some homemade dog cookies in 30 minutes! I’d be willing to wager, that unless you’re a 23-year-old bachelor, you’ve already got the ingredients you need in your cupboard – flour, baking powder, peanut butter and milk.

Follow this quick simple recipe and be your dog’s hero:

Ingredients:
2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1 cup natural peanut butter
1 cup low-fat milk

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour and baking powder. In a separate bowl, mix the milk and peanut butter. Combine the wet and try mixtures, and mix well.

On a lightly floured surface, first knead, then roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Using a cookie cutter, cut out shapes. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake 20 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool on a rack and store in an airtight container

Quite frankly, my dogs – and I doubt yours will either – care too much about the cutter shape you use. You could make a special trip to the store and pick up a dog bone cookie cutter, but I prefer my gingerbread man and Christmas tree cutter (makes Christmas last year-round).

Whatever the shape, your dogs will love the freshly baked cookies. Know what else they love? EasyTurf. With its revolutionary drainage capabilities, along with its realistic look and feel, EasyTurf is the number one choice for pet owners. Check out EasyTurf for more!
